Post Reply. Hey y'all, So it happened. The dreaded P code popped up on my ride. It happened when I was re-wiring the ignition control module so I thought it was just a fluke. Happened again I've got Denso O2 sensors on the way, plan to clean the ones I have first. I live in CA, so I need two cats and I may have to smog this registration, which is coming up next month.
My entire system is rusted to all hell no holes , I'm surprised the bolts are still with us. Although, I have the stock exhaust When looking over parts I came to notice something. BRE C. Compliant Catalytic converts look exactly like the MagnaFlow and MagnaFlow , and they are roughly dollars less.
Now I know pictures can be misleading But does anyone know the difference in quality between these two catalytic converters? I do like that MagnaFlow has a payment plan, but if I, unfortunately, have to swap out my cats I might test em out. Thanks all, happy Overlanding If I were to get new cats I'd have to switch to a full comprehensive insurance.

TRD , Oct 12, While we could have gone for a cheaper option, we decided to go with the Pacesetter because many of the Pacesetter catalytic converter reviews had lots of great things to say. We have no regrets spending extra money for a higher quality catalytic converter. What we want to see improvements on is the manufacturer warranty.
Nonetheless, we had a great experience with the Pacesetter as it was easy and simple to install. Our overall experience with the Pacesetter Direct-Fit Catalytic Converter has been a positive one.
We highly recommend this catalytic converter to anyone and would give it 4 stars out of 5. It is made from high quality stainless steel with preinstalled heat shields that gives it a long life. While we had nothing but positive experiences with the catalytic converter for most of its life, we did notice that it does accumulate rust at a fast rate.
That issue was immediately resolved when we contacted their customer service and got the DEC Catalytic Converter replaced. We hope that in the future, there will be something in place to give loyal customers some positive reassurance.
When we learned about the MagnaFlow from universal catalytic converter reviews, we felt a heavy weight had been lifted from our shoulders. Aside from the difficult search, we were pleasantly happy with the specs and high quality build that the MagnaFlow had to offer. We experienced no issues with installation or set up. One set back that we experienced was that the MagnaFlow did not come with an Oxygen sensor plug.
We contacted MagnaFlow and we were asked to install it manually ourselves. While we did it with no issues, we had hoped that the company would have been more accommodating in having this request fulfilled for us. Nonetheless, we would still highly recommend the MagnaFlow Receive the latest in automotive news straight to your email every Monday!

Walker are closer to OEM. If you have to actually pass tail pipe sniffer testing and plan on keeping the car then Walker is probably a better bet. I've had a Walker cat since spring , no issues so far. Holds up pretty well to rust, too. Thanks guys I ended up going with a walker cat with no flanges so I have to weld it in. This is probably a dumb question but does it matter what direction it goes in? I don't see any arrow or anything.
I thought there is a flow arrow but if not then either way. I'm about 10k miles onto my Walker and no hiccups yet. I suppose I should recommend them. Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do. Thanks guys. Got it all welded on and it feels like its a brand new car.
Huge difference. I did a little research and it seems most universal cats are bidirectional. All times are GMT
